More than two weeks ago I traveled to the heart of the Ashanti region, but it has taken all this time for me to process and internalize the experience in a way that I could write about it. I must start by describing a play that I attended the night before I left. This play was The Fall of Kumbi by Mohamad Abdullah, a Ghanaian Muslim.
