Lynn Freed is the author of six novels, including this newest one; the others are House of Women, The Mirror, The Bungalow, Home Ground, and Friends of the Family. She has also published a collection of short stories, The Curse of the Appropriate Man, and a book of essays, Reading, Writing and Leaving Home.
