Nancy Kline

Nancy Kline is the Director of the Writing Program at Barnard College. In addition to her translations, she has published the novel The Faithful, a book of criticism entitled Lightning: The Poetry of Rene Char, and a biography on Elizabeth Blackwell. She also edited the book How Writers Teach Writing, to which she contributed the essay "Writing as Translation: The Great Between." She has published many short stories, essays, and reviews, and has won an NEA Creative Writing Grant and fellowships to MacDowell, VCCA, and Yaddo.

Currently working on: a translation of Jules Laforgue's Moralites legendaires (with Patricia Terry), a novel entitled Strings, and a collection of essays entitled Other Georgraphies.
