Born in Manhattan in 1952, I spent my childhood between Pound Ridge, New York, and Israel, traveling with my family to my mother's birthplace in Jerusalem every three years.
My first novel, EDGES was selected and edited by Grace Paley for Glad Day Books. I've received grants from The New York State Council on the Arts, The Department of Cultural affairs, The PEN Faulkner Foundation, The New York State Council on the Arts, The Department of Cultural Affairs, The Patricia Kind Foundation, The Robert Gage Foundation, and Con Edison. I was awarded a Teaching Fellowship for graduate work at Sarah Lawrence College where she holds a BA and MFA in writing.
Recently EDGES was picked by "The Bloomsbury Review's 25th Anniversary Issue" as a "Favorite Book of the Last 25 Years.
EDGES is currently optioned and in development for a feature film with Triboro Pictures
. An original audio production of EDGES narrated by Tovah Feldshuh, will be released in November, 2007 by Midsummer Sound, Inc.
