David Dante Troutt
Thomas Dallal
David Dante Troutt is an educator, editor, and author of poetry, novels, non-fiction and journalistic works including The Monkey Suit—and other short fiction on African Americans and justice.

A graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School, Troutt pursued various law and advocacy-related efforts before joining the Rutgers Law School (Newark) faculty. Troutt writes political essays and analysis for a variety of national periodicals and web sites, including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, The Crisis, DailyVoice.com, and the Washington Independent.com.

Troutt is a native New Yorker and currently lives in Brooklyn.
