Víctor Manuel Mendiola
Víctor Manuel Mendiola was born in Mexico City in 1954.

His books include Vuelo 294; Papel Revolucion; and Tan Oro y Oro. Mendiola has also authored several books of literary criticism and poetry anthologies, including Xavier Villaurrutia: La Comedia de la Admiración; Sol de Mi Antojo; Antología de Poesía Erótica con Tema Homosexual, and Tigre la Sed, Antología de Poesía Mexicana.

He is the publisher of Ediciones el Tucan de Virginia, a poetry press, and has published poets from all over the globe. He was President of the Mexico PEN center from 1997 to 2000 and helped to establish the center for Cuban writers in exile.

In 2003 the Institute of North American Writers in New York awarded Mendiola the Latino Prize for Literature for his complete works of poetry.
