Mariela Dreyfus is the author of four poetry collections: Memorias de Electra, Placer fantasma, Ónix, and Pez. Placer fantasma was awarded the prestigious Premio de Poesía Asociación Peruano Japonesa in 1992.
Her work has been included in several anthologies, including La poesía latinoamericana del siglo XXI: el turno y la transición; Poesía peruana siglo XX; Poésie Péruvienne du XXe Siécle; Mujeres mirando al Sur: poetas sudamericanas en USA; and Poetas contemporáneas.
Dreyfus teaches Creative Writing in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at NYU.
