Lisa Appignanesi is a novelist, writer, and broadcaster. Her latest novel is The Memory Man. Her other fictions include the psychological thrillers Paris Requiem, Sanctuary, The Dead of Winter, as well as The Things We Do for Love, A Good Women, Dreams of Innocence, and Memory and Desire (Harper Collins). Her new book, Mad, Bad, and Sad: A History of Women and the Mind Doctors comes out next January.
She is Deputy-President of English PEN, Chair of the Free Expression Is No Offence campaign, and a member of the PEN Writers in Prison Committee. She is on Council of the ICA, and Chair of the trustees of the Freud Museum London, as well as a patron of Writers in Exile.
