Rick Moody
Rick Moody, born in 1961 in New York City, is an American novelist. He grew up in suburban Connecticut.

Moody's first novel, Garden State, won the Pushcart Editor's Choice Award. His memoir The Black Veil won the PEN/Martha Albrand Award for the Art of the Memoir. His 1994 novel, The Ice Storm, brought widespread acclaim, and became a bestseller. It was later made into a feature film.

Moody has received the Addison Metcalf Award, the Paris Review Aga Khan Prize, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. His articles has appeared in The New Yorker, Esquire, the Paris Review, Harper's, Details, the New York Times, and Grand Street. He also performs with his band, The Wingdale Community Singers.
