Edwidge Danticat was born in Haiti and moved to the United States when she was twelve.
Danticat is the author of numerous books, including Breath, Eyes, Memory; Krik? Krak!, a National Book Award finalist; The Farming of Bones, an American Book Award winner; The Dew Breaker, a PEN/Faulkner Award finalist and winner of the first Story Prize; and most recently, Brother,
I’m Dying, which won the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, the National Book
Critics Circle Award for Autobiography, and was a National Book Award Finalist.
She lives in Miami with her husband and daughter.
