Biljana Srbljanović is a Serbian author and part-time professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.
She has written plays, screenplays, and numerous political analyses. Her plays have
been translated into 24 languages, and performed in over 100 theaters
in Germany, France, Scandinavia, Austria, Russia,
Poland, Belgium, and the Balkans.
She was awarded the Ernst Toller prize in 1999 and the European Theater
New Theatre Reality Award in 2007. A political and animal rights
activist,
she published her war diaries in 1999 in the Italian daily La Repubblica. In 2002, as a Fulbright
Fellow, she was a visiting professor at the New York University Tisch
School of the Arts.
She lives in Belgrade and Paris.
