Ximena Escalante was born in Mexico.
A playwright, director, and
journalist, she studied stage directing in Mexico at the University
Theater Center and creative writing and theater at RESAD in Spain.
She has written several plays, including La Siesta de Pirandello (Pirandello’s Siesta), Voluptuosa Colette (Voluptuous Colette), Yo tambien quiero un profeta (I also want a prophet), and Fedra y otras griegas (Phaedra and Other Labyrinths), which was produced at the El Granero theater in Mexico City in 2002.
