Pam Muñoz Ryan
Sean Masterson
Pam Muñoz Ryan was born and raised in Bakersfield, California, in the San Joaquin Valley.

She is the author of over thirty books, including the bestselling Esperanza Rising and Becoming Naomi Leon. She is the 2007 Author Recipient of the National Education Association’s Human and Civil Rights Award.

Her most recent book, Paint the Wind, was published in 2007.
