Lucarelli is a journalist, playwright, and screenwriter, who made his publishing debut in the 1990s with the heralded De Luca trilogy. He has since written 11 noir novels and collections of stories, including Almost Blue and Day After Day

A founding member of the literary circle Gruppo 13, Lucarelli is the recipient of numerous prizes in mystery, and was recently translated into French for Gallimard's Série noire.
