Lila Azam Zanganeh studied literature and philosophy at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. She moved to the United States in 1998 to teach literature, cinema, and Romance languages at Harvard University.
She has been, since 2002, a literary contributor to Le Monde and has been published in The New York Times, The Nation, The Paris Review, and La Repubblica. Her first book—Light of My Life—a combination of fiction and essay celebrating happiness according to Vladimir Nabokov, will be published in 2011 by Norton in the United States and Penguin Modern Classics in England.
