Victoria Roberts
Victoria Roberts is an internationally- renowned cartoonist and performer. Born in Manhattan, Roberts grew up in Mexico City and Sydney.

Under contract to The New Yorker since 1988, Roberts' work has also appeared in The Australian, Uno Mas Uno (Mexico), and Vrij Nederland (Holland).

Roberts has written and illustrated six books, illustrated 14 books, and received several grants, awards, and residencies, including an Australian Bicentennial grant for "Australia Felix" published by Chatto & Windus.

Since 2004, she has appeared on stage as her cartoon character Nona Appleby (née Molesworth). Nona is a kimono-clad Australian octogenarian. Her first solo show, Nona, opened at the National Museum for Women in Washington D.C. in 2005, and went on to a season at Urban Stages in New York City. Nona was a guest of the In Good Company Festival in London, Ontario, in 2006 with a second solo show that incorporates Nona on film.

Over the summer of 2006 Nona starred in a one-woman film, The Nibbler, after Burt Lancaster's role in The Swimmer. Appleby looks forward to her next film project, Mrs. Buddwing, another one-woman film after the role of James Garner in Mister Buddwing.
