Charles Selby
With a history of serious escapes and such attempts, I have been confined to solitary confinement since 1998, a place where prison officials have vowed I will remain until I die or become old and feeble-minded. Unfortunately, I’m only 39 years old and serving a life sentence. I’ve been incarcerated since 1986. However, coming to my senses, I’ve chosen to take responsibility for my actions and make the best of my situation. Writing has been a great outlet and a viable means to combat years of sensory deprivation. I still have much to learn, but, in doing so, my goal is to create literature that will encourage people to overcome life’s obstacles. Everyone has a purpose, and if I’m able to help someone from the confines of this cell, I’ve found mine.
