Martha Southgate’s newest novel, Third Girl from the Left, was
published in September 2005 and was an Editor’s
Choice of the New York Times Book Review. She is also the author of The
Fall of Rome, which was named one of the best novels of 2002
by Jonathan Yardley of The Washington Post. She received a 2002 NYFA
Fellowship and has received fellowships from the MacDowell Colony and
the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
