Kwame Anthony Appiah is president of PEN American Center and professor of philosophy at Princeton University.
Among his works are three mystery novels and a variety of works in philosophy and cultural studies, including Cosmopolitanism: Ethics in a World of Strangers. Appiah reviews regularly for The New York Review of Books.
He has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2008.
