Helen Benedict is the author of five novels and five books of nonfiction.
Her latest nonfiction book, The Lonely Soldier: Women at War in Iraq will be out from Beacon Press in April 2009, while her play on the subject The Lonely Soldier Monologues will be produced at The Theatre for the New City in March. Her new novel, The Edge of Eden will be published in November 2009 by Soho Press.
Benedict has frequently written from the point of view of people from cultures other than her own, most recently in her young adult novel, The Opposite of Love, published by Viking, 2007.
