Daniel Felsenfeld
Daniel Felsenfeld was born in Washington, D.C. in 1970.

He is a composer whose recent commissions have included The Real Quiet trio (with Petra Haden and Theo Bleckmann), The Congressional Chorus, The Great Noise Ensemble, and pianists Andrew Russo and Simone Dinnerstein.

Opera After Hours
, an evening of music theater, was performed at the Zipper Factory in 2008 (directed by Christopher Alden). The Dresden Soul Symphony, written with arranger and cellist Larry Gold, premiered in 2008.

His work has been played at Carnegie Hall, The Kitchen, and Symphony Space. Recordings include: pianist Andrew Russo’s Dirty Little Secrets and Mix Tape (Endeavor Classics); and pianist Jenny Lin’s American Insomniac (Koch).

Felsenfeld teaches at City College, and lives in Brooklyn with his wife, the writer Elizabeth Isadora Gold.
