Dikran Janus “D J” Kadagian was born in Westport, Connecticut. He is a producer and director.
After graduating from Cornell University in 1985 and spending a brief period in publishing, he chose a career in the financial markets. He later developed proprietary trading software, the success of which enabled him to pursue other interests. After spending time at Yale Divinity School, Kadagian went on to a career in documentary film.
He is the creator of the award-winning Crisis of Faith series, which includes the films: State of the Union, Quest for the Grail, A Crisis of Faith, and Portrait of a Radical. It has appeared many times on television, and was featured at more than 35 film festivals around the U.S. and in Europe. In 2008, Kadagian released a new series, Moving Poetry, which is comprised of the films RANT, RAVE, and RIFF.
