Biel Mesquida was born in Castelló de la Plana, Spain in 1947.
He is a writer and poet, has a degree in Biology and Informational Sciences. He is also Director of the Mediterranean Poetry Festival, and author of the novels Adolescent of Salt, Elcelsior or Written Time, and Vertigo. His latest work, Acrollam, was published in 2008.
Mesquida also collaborated on the screenplay for A. Villaronga’s The Sea, and has published several story collections; most recent is The Details of the World, which won the Premi Nacional de Cultura for literature in 2006. His other awards include the Ciutat de Barcelona and the Ciutat de Palma Llorenç Villalonga.
