Péter Nádas
Péter Nádas was born in Budapest in 1942.

In 1972, he published The End of a Family Novel, which was later translated into 21 languages. His novel A Book of Memories was published in 1986 and was translated into 11 languages.

In 1991, he was awarded the Österreichische Staatspreis für Europäische Literatur, and in the same year received the Kossuth-díj, the highest Hungarian prize for literary and artistic achievement. In 2002, he received the Franz Kafka Prize in Prague.

Péter Nádas lives in Gombosszeg, in western Hungary, where he worked for more than 18 years on his three-volume novel Parallel Stories. It was published in 2005.
