Richard North Patterson was born in Berkeley, California in 1947.
He is the author of Exile, The Race, and 13 other best-selling and critically acclaimed novels. Formerly a trial lawyer, he was the SEC’s liaison to the Watergate special prosecutor and has served on the boards of several Washington advocacy groups.
He lives in San Francisco and Martha’s Vineyard.
