Fuad Rifka
Fuad Rifka was born in Kafroun, Syria in 1930, and moved with his family to Lebanon in the 1940s.

He is a poet, translator, and professor emeritus. He has published 13 collections of poetry, and translated several poetry collections from English and German into Arabic.

Rifka is a member of the German Academy for Language and Poetry and the Rainer Maria Rilke Society, among others, and has won the Gundolf Prize from the German Academy, and the Mediterranean Prize for Poetry.
