Deborah Heiligman was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
She is the author of 26 books for children of all ages, many of them nonfiction. Her most recent, Charles and Emma: The Darwins’ Leap of Faith, was published in January. Some of her other titles are: From Caterpillar to Butterfly; Fun Dog, Sun Dog; High Hopes: A Photo Biography of John F. Kennedy; and the Holidays Around the World series.
Heiligman lives in New York City.
