Koffi Kwahulé is a playwright and novelist originally from Abengourou in Ivory Coast.
Kwahulé's plays have been produced internationally and translated into several languages. His first novel, Babyface, recently won the Grand Prix Ahmadou Kourouma and the Grand Prix Ivoirien des Lettres.
He studied at the Institut national des Arts in Abidjan, at the École de la rue Blanche in Paris, as well as at the Sorbonne nouvelle where he earned his Ph.D. in theater studies.
He is the recipient of the Grand Prix International des dramaturgies du Monde, the Prix SACD-RFI 94 and the Journées d'Auteurs du Théâtre des Célestins de Lyon. His recent productions include Jaz, Bintou, P'tite-Souillure, La Dame du café d'en face, Big Shoot, and Blue-S-cat.
