Bill Bradley was born in Crystal City, Missouri in 1943.
He is a former Democratic senator from New Jersey (1979–1997) and managing director of Allen & Company. In 2000 Bradley was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President.
Prior to serving in the Senate, he was a professional basketball player for the New York Knicks.
He has published several books on American politics, culture, and economy, including, most recently, The New American Story. He also hosts American Voices, a weekly show on Sirius Satellite Radio.
Bradley currently resides in Verona, New Jersey.
