Roxanne Coady
Roxanne Coady is president and founder of R.J. Julia Booksellers in Madison, Connecticut, a national leader among independent booksellers.

Among the awards that R.J. Julia Booksellers has received are: Business New Haven Small Business of the Year, the New Haven Advocate Reader’s Poll First Place Independent Bookstore, and Publishers Weekly Bookseller of the Year. Coady also founded and continues to chair the Read to Grow Foundation, which in partnership with urban hospitals throughout Connecticut provides books and literacy information to tens of thousands of children and families each year.

A Director for the NewAlliance Bank of New Haven serving on the Audit and Loan Committees, Coady also serves on the boards of The Kenyon Review, the Connecticut Business & Industry Association, Inc., and the Governor’s Early Childhood Research and Policy Council. Coady was chosen Delegate for White House Conference on Small Business, and the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame. Prior to her career as a bookseller, she was National Tax Director and Partner for BDO Seidman in New York.

In 2006, Coady co-edited The Book That Changed My Life. She appears regularly on National Public Radio.
