José Manuel Prieto was born in Havana in 1962. He lived in Russia for 12 years, has translated the words of Joseph Brodsky and Anna Akhmatova into Spanish, and has taught Russian history in Mexico City.
He currently lives in New York and is a visiting professor at Princeton University.
