Vadim Yarmolinets was born in 1958 in Odessa, Ukraine. After graduating from Odessa University, Vadim worked as a local reporter until he immigrated to the U.S. in 1989.
From 1990 to 2008 he worked, first as a reporter and then city news editor, with the New York-based, Russian language daily newspaper Novoye Russkoye Slovo (New Russian Word). He has hosted radio-shows on several Russian radio-stations in New York.
Yarmolinets has published three books of prose in the U.S. and Ukraine. He has won many awards, and in 2009 was a finalist for the Russian literary contest Big Book, for his novel Lead Zeppelin: Jericho '86–89. The book will be published in Russia in fall 2009.
Yarmolinets lives in Brooklyn and works as a freelance writer and journalist, writing in Russian.
