Marty McConnell

Marty McConnell is a writer, performance artist, and educator. She cofounded the Morrigan, competed in National Poetry Slams, appeared on HBO's Def Poetry Jam, and collaborated with Norman Lear for the spoken word portion of Declare Yourself. For nearly a decade, she co-curated the flagship reading series of the New York City-based louderARTS Project. Her work has been published in Word Warriors: 35 Women Leaders in the Spoken Word Movement, Women of the Bowery, Salt Hill Review, and Rattapallax, among others. She returned to Chicago in 2009 to co-found Vox Ferus.
