The RRofihe Trophy offers $500, a trophy, and publication in Open City magazine for an unpublished short story (up to 5,000 words). The author must not have been previously published in Open City. There is a $10 reading fee. Write to address above or see web site for more details.

POETRY
Ohio State University Press, The Journal Award in Poetry
The Ohio State University Press/Award in Poetry selects one full-length manuscript each year for a $2,000 prize and publication by the Press. Entries must be at least 48 pages long; a $25 reading fee is required. Those submitting a manuscript and the fee receive a one-year subscription to The Journal, the literary magazine of Ohio State University. Submissions accepted in September only. Apply to Poetry Editor at above address.

NONFICTION
Hunger Mountain, Creative Nonfiction Prize
The Creative Nonfiction Prize awards a first prize of $1,000 and publication in the Spring 2009 Issue of Hunger Mountain. Two honorable mentions receive $100 each. Entries must be original, written in English, and up to 10,000 words. There is a $15 reading fee, which includes a copy of the Spring 2009 Issue of Hunger Mountain.
