Ohio State University Press, The Journal Award in Poetry

The Ohio State University Press/Award in Poetry selects one full-length manuscript each year for a $2,000 prize and publication by the Press. Entries must be at least 48 pages long; a $25 reading fee is required. Those submitting a manuscript and the fee receive a one-year subscription to The Journal, the literary magazine of Ohio State University. Submissions accepted in September only. NONFICTION

Hunger Mountain, Creative Nonfiction Prize

The Creative Nonfiction Prize awards a first prize of $1,000 and publication in the Spring 2009 Issue of Hunger Mountain. Two honorable mentions receive $100 each. Entries must be original, written in English, and up to 10,000 words. There is a $15 reading fee, which includes a copy of the Spring 2009 Issue of Hunger Mountain.
