Alaa Al-Aswany
Alaa Al-Aswany Alaa Al-Aswany was born on May 26, 1957.

He was educated at the Lycee Francais in Cairo, Cairo University, and the University of Illinois-Chicago.

A film of his novel The Yacoubian Building debutes at this year's Tribeca Film Festival.
