Public Lives/Private Lives: Photo Voyeurism

If a picture is worth a thousand words, what can we deduce from a photograph of a basement filled with inflatable dolls, a notebook of dense notes, or a portrait of a young boy? We asked PEN Members to send us photos of their private lives so you could have a look. Join us in a mixed-media experiment to explore the intersection of the public and private, the visual and written.

Here's how it works:

Part I: Private Lives

PEN Members
e-mail us photographs documenting intimate details and privates spaces in their lives.

>> Send a photo

  Part II: Public Lives

Visitors click on the photos and post writing based on the images. The form is up to you.

 Part III: Results

Written entries are published instantly alongside the image. A selection of writings will be featured on the PEN homepage.
