PEN AMERICAN CENTER AWARDS FOR POETRY
The following awards are offered by PEN American Center for literary excellence in poetry.
Voelcker Award for Poetry

For an American poet whose distinguished and growing body of work to date represents a notable and accomplished presence in American literature, for whom the promise seen in earlier work has been fulfilled, and who has matured with each successive volume. ($5,000, in even-numbered years). More 

Joyce Osterweil Award for Poetry

The PEN/Joyce Osterweil Award recognizes the high literary character of the published work to date of a new and emerging American poet of any age and the promise of further literary achievement. Poets nominated for the award may not have published more than one book of poetry. More 



PEN Award for Poetry in Translation

The $3,000 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation is conferred every spring in New York. The award recognizes booklength translations of poetry from any language into English published during the current calendar year, and is judged by a single translator of poetry appointed by the PEN Translation Committee. The award was made possible originally by a bequest from the late translator and PEN member Rae Dalven, and has received current support from The Kaplen Foundation. More 

Beyond Margins Award

PEN/Beyond Margins Awards invites submissions of booklength writings by authors of color, published in the United States during the current calendar year. The Beyond Margins Awards were created by PEN American Center's Open Book Committee, a group committed to racial and ethnic diversity within the literary and publishing communities. The awards confer five $1000 prizes upon African, Arab, Asian, Caribbean, Latino, and Native American authors who have not received wide media coverage. More
