The following awards are offered by PEN American Center for excellence in translation. |

PEN Translation Prize
|
The $3,000 PEN Translation Prize invites submissions of book-length translations from any language into English published during the current calendar year. The prize, established in 1963, seeks to recognize the art of the literary translator--the first American award to do so. |

PEN Award for Poetry in Translation
|
The $3,000 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation is conferred every spring in New York. The award recognizes book-length translations of poetry from any language into English published during the current calendar year, and is judged by a single translator of poetry appointed by the PEN Translation Committee. |

Translation Fund Grants
|
In 2003, PEN American Center received a substantial donation for an endowment that will aim at increasing the number and quality of literary translations published in English. The amount of the award will vary from $2,000 to $10,000 depending on the nature and length of the project and the number of proposal deemed worthy of support during a given year. |

Ralph Manheim Medal for Translation
|
The PEN/Ralph Manheim Medal for Translation is given every three years to a translator whose career has demonstrated a commitment to excellence through the body of his or her work. By internal nomination only. |
