Translation Fund
|
Each fall, translators are invited to submit proposals for the translation
of works of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and drama currently unavailable
in English. The Fund has given grants of $2,000–$3,000 to a total of 32 translations from 22 languages, including Hindi, Finland-Swedish, Basque, Estonian, and Lithuanian, as well as French, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic. |

PEN/Book-of-the-Month Club Translation Prize
|
The $3,000 PEN/Book-of-the-Month Club Translation Prize invites submissions of booklength translations from any language into English published during the current calendar year. The prize has been supported since 1963 by the Book-of-the-Month Club in recognition of the art of the literary translator--the first American award to do so. |

The PEN Award for Poetry In Translation
|
The $3,000 PEN Award for Poetry in Translation recognizes booklength translations of poetry from any language into English published during the current calendar year, and is judged by a single translator of poetry appointed by the PEN Translation Committee. The award was made possible originally by a bequest from the late translator and PEN member Rae Dalven, and has received current support from The Kaplen Foundation. |
