The submission period for PEN America 15 will run from from June 15 to August 15.

Please note that because much of what PEN America publishes comes directly from the work of PEN American Center, there is limited space for unsolicited submissions. Simultaneous submissions are encouraged. Please let us know if a submission has been sent elsewhere and please alert us if it is accepted at another publication.

What we accept: Poetry, fiction, drama, personal and lyric essays, and memoirs. Excerpts are acceptable if self-contained. We do not publish book reviews. Unpublished work is strongly preferred, but reprints will be considered.

Translations are especially welcome -- so long as permission has been granted by the work's original author or by a representative of the author's literary estate.

Poetry submissions should not exceed ten manuscript pages. Drama submissions should not exceed fifteen pages. Fiction submissions should not exceed 7,500 words.
