Francisco Goldman was born in Boston in 1954.
He is the author The Long Night of White Chickens, which won the Sue Kaufman Award for First Fiction and was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner award, and The Ordinary Seaman, which was a finalist for the International IMPAC Dublin Fiction Prize and the PEN/Faulkner award, and The Los Angeles Times Book Prize. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books and The New York Times Magazine. His most recent novel, The Divine Husband, was published in 2004.
