Francine Prose
Francine Prose

Francine Prose’s most recent novel is A Changed Man. She is also the author of Blue Angel, Hunters and Gatherers, Bigfoot Dreams, Primitive People, and six other novels; two story collections; and a collection of novellas, Guided Tours of Hell. Her stories and essays have appeared in The Atlantic Monthly, Harper’s, The Best American Short Stories, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The New York Observer, and numerous other publications.

 

She has taught at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, the University of Arizona, the University of Utah, and the Bread Loaf and Sewanee writers’ conferences.

PEN Vice-President Francine Prose joined booksellers, librarians, and publishers on Capitol Hill to cheer the reintroduction of the Freedom to Read Protection Act, and to support the mobilization of readers and book lovers all over the country to press for the restoration, by the end of 2005, of privacy safeguards stripped by the USA PATRIOT Act. More
