Uwe Timm
Uwe Timm

Uwe Timm was born in Hamburg in 1940.

 

Timm is co-founder of AutorenEdition and served as editor from 1972 to 1982. Timm also co-published the literary journal Literarische Hefte.

 

Timm’s latest publication, In My Brother’s Shadow, is an autobiographical work about his brother, who served and died as a member of the feared SS Death’s Head group during World War II. Among his other works are the novels The Invention of Curried Sausage and Morenga.

 

Timm’s awards include the Literature Prize of the Bavarian Academy for Fine Arts, the Munich Literature Prize, and the Schubart Literary Prize.
