Lyonel Trouillot, a poet, novelist, and essayist, writes in Haitian Kreyòl and French.

Trouillot is a founding member of the Haitian Writers Association.

His book Street of Lost Footsteps, translated by Linda Coverdale, was a finalist for the 2004 PEN/Book-of-the-Month Club Translation Prize.
