Meir Shalev

Meir Shalev was born in 1948 on Nahalal, Israel's first moshav and is one of Israel's most celebrated novelists. His books, including Fontenella, Alone in the Desert, and But a Few Days, have been translated into over 20 languages and been best-sellers in Israel, Holland and Germany. In 1999, he received the Juliet Club Prize (Italy).
Meir Shalev is also a columnist with the Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot. He lives in Jerusalem and in the north of Israel with his wife and children, where he is a motorcycle and jeep enthusiast.
