What are you working on right now?
¡SOME PEOPLE! is a collection of anecdotes about and letters by prominent people I've met in my career, including Dalí, Borges, Barth, Mother Teresa, Empson, Campbell, Brodsky, Segovia, and numerous others.
Did you publish a book this year? If so, what was it?
Late December '05: Stages of Evil: Occultism in Western Theater and Drama (UP of Kentucky, 2005).
Did you publish anything online this year?
A piece of mine on the lore of Friday the 13th appeared in October on that date in The Philadelphia Inquirer & was also available on-line.

What was the best literary event you attended this year? And why?
FOUND IN TRANSLATION. World Poetry Read by World People, in State College, PA on Nov. 16th. It was special in that 30 of us came together to read poetry of our nations.
Did you attend any PEN events this year? If so, which ones?
No. I live about 5 hrs. from NYC.
What was the most important literary news this year?
The awarding of the Nobel Prize for Literature
What do you value most about your Membership to PEN?
I value greatly the contact PEN provides to the literary world beyond my central PA confines.

A long time.

Yes.
Any other news?
I'm completing a poetry collection on Andean myths and archaeology, with illustrations. Also in progress is a book of travel writings, parts of which have appeared in print.
