Julia Shirek Smith, a native of California and a long-time resident of New Mexico, is accredited by the American Translators Association as a French-to-English and Spanish-to-English translator. Between literary efforts, she translates scholarly articles on Latin America and does pro bono work for Médecins Sans Frontières.
