Cyber-dissident arrested on May 12, 2006, and charged with “inciting subversion of state power” for 34 articles he published on overseas web sites attacking the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party. Guo was sentenced to four years in prison and three years’ deprivation of political rights on October 17, 2006. He was released from No. 4 Prison of Hebei Province, Shi Jiazhuang City, on May 11, 2010. Guo is reportedly nursing several injuries sustained in prison. |
