Trudy Gray
Location: Monaca, PA

Occupation: Writer & author

I am a freelance writer living near Pittsburgh, PA. I also published my first novel titled Flax Flower, by iUniverse. The story is set in Belgium and the United States in the early 1960s. It tells the story of a group of American medical students studying in Belgium, their relationships with young, local women, and the obstacles these couples faced as they attempted to build a future together in America.

I am European-born and the novel is based on true events and observations about the prejudices experienced by American Jews, Italians and other minorities who were unable to gain access to an American medical school. The story is told through the eyes of a Flemish young woman, the daughter of a flax farmer. The story has a surprise ending. The book is available at iUniverse.com and Amazon.com.

I am busy freelancing and writing another novel.
